AComparatives. Choose the correct words.Q1–2 of 6
Our market in Tamparuli is smaller (1) ___ the market in Kota Kinabalu, but I think it’s (2) ___! The sellers here are (3) ___ and the new food court is (4) ___ modern. The food stalls are (5) ___ than the stalls in the city and they’re (6) ___ too!
than and better = than 和 better
It’s smaller than the market in Kota Kinabalu, but it’s better!
than and better = than dan better
Untuk soalan satu dan dua, bentuk perbandingan mesti diikuti than, bukan to atau of.
Contoh: It’s smaller than the market in Kota Kinabalu.
AComparatives. Choose the correct words.Q3–4 of 6
Our market in Tamparuli is smaller (1) ___ the market in Kota Kinabalu, but I think it’s (2) ___! The sellers here are (3) ___ and the new food court is (4) ___ modern. The food stalls are (5) ___ than the stalls in the city and they’re (6) ___ too!
friendlier and more = friendlier 和 more
modern 是长的形容词,比较级要在前面放 more,变成 more modern 比较现代,many 和 a lot 放在这里都不通。
The sellers here are friendlier and the food court is more modern.
friendlier and more = friendlier dan more
Contoh: The sellers here are kind and the food court is new.
AComparatives. Choose the correct words.Q5–6 of 6
Our market in Tamparuli is smaller (1) ___ the market in Kota Kinabalu, but I think it’s (2) ___! The sellers here are (3) ___ and the new food court is (4) ___ modern. The food stalls are (5) ___ than the stalls in the city and they’re (6) ___ too!
第5、6题:cheap 是短的形容词,比较级是 cheaper,不可以说 more cheap,cheap 本身也不能放在 than 前面;clean 也是短的形容词,比较级是 cleaner,more clean 不对,cleaning 是“打扫”,是动词,意思不一样。
The food stalls are cheaper than the stalls in the city and they’re cleaner too.
Cleaning pula bermaksud membersihkan, iaitu kata kerja, jadi maksudnya berbeza. Ingat: kata adjektif pendek ditambah er; hanya yang panjang menggunakan more.
Contoh: These stalls are bigger than the stalls in the city.
Awas: Kata adjektif pendek ditambah er, tanpa more.
BPut the dialogue in order. Write 1–6 for each line.Q1–3 of 6
a Aiman: You’re welcome.
b Tourist: Excuse me. Are we near the museum here?

d Tourist: How far is it from here?
e Tourist: That’s great. Thanks for your help.
f Aiman: Have you got a map? Yes, look, we’re here and the museum is in Jalan Muzium.
Excuse me. Are we near the museum here?
dialogue order = susunan dialog

COrder the words to make sentences.Q1–4 of 8
第1到第4题:形容词放在名词前面,very 放在形容词前面,所以是 a very interesting town;地点的说法是 in the east of Sabah;人口的说法是 It’s got a population of about My favourite place is the market,也可以倒过来写。
Sandakan is a very interesting town.
position of adjectives = kedudukan kata sifat
Untuk soalan satu hingga empat, kata adjektif diletakkan sebelum kata nama dan very sebelum kata adjektif. Lokasi ditulis dengan in the, arah, of dan nama negeri. Bilangan penduduk ditulis dengan It’s got a population of about dan nombor. Tempat kegemaran boleh ditulis dengan My favourite place is. Ayat dimulakan dengan huruf besar.

第5到第8题:There are some 后面接形容词和复数名词:some nice cafes;There’s a big park too,too 放在句尾;距离的说法是 It’s only thirty minutes from Sepilok,only 放在时间前面;exciting 是元音开头,所以用 an:an exciting place。
It’s only thirty minutes from Sepilok.
describing a town = menerangkan bandar
Untuk soalan lima hingga lapan, There are some diikuti kata adjektif dan kata nama jamak. Too diletakkan di hujung ayat. Untuk jarak, only diletakkan sebelum masa.
Contoh: It’s only thirty minutes from Sepilok. — Ia hanya tiga puluh minit dari Sepilok.
Awas: Kata adjektif yang bermula dengan vokal didahului an.
