The lost camera
Twenty-year-old student Daniel Wong from Sandakan went on a long holiday. First, he travelled to Thailand, and next, he visited Australia. He had a camera and he took a lot of photos.
In Australia, Daniel went kayaking on a river with some friends. But the kayak turned over and his camera fell into the water. Daniel looked for it, but he didn’t find it. He was very sad because all his holiday photos were on it.
Eight months later, a fisherman called Jack Miller found the camera – not in the river, but on a beach sixty kilometres away! He looked at the photos. There were a lot of pictures of a young man with curly black hair and glasses. He was often in front of famous buildings.
Jack wanted to give the photos back, so he put three of them on social media and asked, ‘Do you know this man?’ More than 10,000 people shared the photos. One of them was Daniel’s cousin, and she told Daniel the good news.
Daniel is at home in Sabah now. Because of Jack’s help, he’s got all his photos. ‘Thank you, Jack!’
Daniel got all his photos back, so the end is happy.
general idea = idea utama
Contoh: The fisherman found the camera on a beach.

Daniel is at home in Sabah now. Because of Jack’s help, he’s got all his photos. ‘Thank you, Jack!’
排次序时,先找表示时间的词,例如 first、next、eight months later、now。
First Thailand, next Australia, then the river.
story order = urutan cerita
Untuk menyusun peristiwa, cari kata masa seperti first, next, eight months later dan now.
Contoh: He went kayaking on a river.

Daniel is at home in Sabah now. Because of Jack’s help, he’s got all his photos. ‘Thank you, Jack!’
Jack found the camera, then he put the photos online.
what happened next = apa berlaku seterusnya
Bahagian penutup cerita menceritakan keadaan Daniel sekarang. Penutup cerita sering bermula dengan perkataan now.
Contoh: Jack found the camera, then he put the photos online.

Daniel is at home in Sabah now. Because of Jack’s help, he’s got all his photos. ‘Thank you, Jack!’
the second event = 第二件事
First, he travelled to Thailand, and next, he visited Australia,所以“接着他去了澳洲”就是第2。
Next, he went to Australia.
注意: next、then、after that 都是表示接下来的时间词。
the second event = peristiwa kedua
Cerita menyebut first, he travelled to Thailand, and next, he visited Australia.
Contoh: Next, he went to Australia. — Seterusnya, dia pergi ke Australia.
Awas: Next, then dan after that ialah kata masa yang berguna.

Daniel is at home in Sabah now. Because of Jack’s help, he’s got all his photos. ‘Thank you, Jack!’
true or false = 对或错
Daniel went kayaking with some friends, not with Jack.
true or false = betul atau salah
Contoh: Daniel went kayaking with some friends. — Daniel pergi berkayak bersama beberapa orang kawan.
Awas: Jangan pilih betul hanya kerana anda nampak nama yang sama. Baca maksud seluruh ayat.

looking for proof = 找证据
He had curly black hair and glasses.
looking for proof = mencari bukti
Ayat 3 menyebut pekerjaan Jack. Cari perenggan ketiga yang menyebut a fisherman called Jack Miller.
Contoh: He had black hair and glasses. — Dia berambut hitam dan memakai cermin mata.

numbers = 数字
故事第四段说 he put three of them on social media,数字一样,所以是对的。
More than 10,000 people shared the photos.
numbers = nombor
Contoh: More than 10,000 people shared the photos. — Lebih sepuluh ribu orang berkongsi gambar itu.

He was sad because his photos were on the camera.
answering questions = menjawab soalan
Contoh: He was sad because he lost his camera. — Dia sedih kerana kehilangan kameranya.

I think he is a kind person.
your opinion = pendapat anda
Contoh: I think he is a good person. — Saya rasa dia orang yang baik.
Awas: Tulis satu kata sifat sahaja untuk soalan 5.
EVocabulary plus: complete the sentences using the past simple form of the verbs. There are three extra verbs.Q1–3 of 5
collect · give · grow · make · play · practise · take · watch
Example: When Dad was young he had curly hair.
Grandpa gave me some money.
past forms = bentuk lampau
Contoh: My aunt made a cake for me. — Mak cik saya membuat kek untuk saya.
Awas: Kata kerja tidak tetap tidak menerima ed. Jangan tulis growed atau maked.
EVocabulary plus: complete the sentences using the past simple form of the verbs. There are three extra verbs.Q4–5 of 5
collect · give · grow · make · play · practise · take · watch
Example: When Dad was young he had curly hair.
take and collect = 拍照和收集
My sister took a photo of the sunset.
take and collect = ambil dan kumpul
Contoh: My sister watched the sunset. — Kakak saya menonton matahari terbenam.
